Tibetan Khaden Runner
One piece · made by Pema
Tibetan Khaden Runner Rug in Triple Medallion (Gau / Lotus) Pattern, 120 knots per square inch.
A wide runner hand-knotted at 120 knots per square inch in three large medallions — the central gau (amulet box) flanked by two lotus discs, an old Newari-Tibetan combination meaning "protection within, awakening above." Worked in yak wool by Pema's loom team in Patan over a winter of careful afternoons.
